Common Questions
Q: I just put something on hold through the website. How soon will it be ready for pick-up?
Our computer system generates hold lists overnight, so library staff won’t pull your materials until the list is created on the following weekday morning. If you are hoping for same-day service, it’s best to call the library.
Q: Will I be able to pick up my materials today?
In many cases yes, but demand, staffing, and location of materials requested can all affect availability. Some orders may be not be ready until the following day, or longer if materials need to come from more than one library. Curbside service is not available Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
Q: According to the website, the materials I want are at several different libraries. How long until they’re ready to be picked up?
When you make your request and where your materials are located can both affect the timeline, so your items could be ready within one day or as long as three. Library staff will contact you when your request is available.
Q: When will my materials be due?
The standard checkout time is 2 weeks, but you may request an extended checkout of up to 6 weeks. We encourage you to sign up for due date reminders at LibraryElf.com. This FREE service reminds you by text or email when your materials are due—helping you to save money on late fees.
Q: Can I use curbside pickup if I (or someone in my household) tested positive for COVID-19?
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, the flu, or another communicable illness please follow the advice of health experts and stay home.
Q: I’m not sure what I want. Can you help?
Absolutely! You can call the library and ask for suggestions or just ask us to choose a selection for you based on genres and reading levels.
Q: I still have questions.
We’re happy to help! Please call us at any of our five locations during regular hours. You can also send messages to the Library’s Facebook page.
