Amarillo Public Library is taking steps to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 in our community. To that end, all Amarillo Public Library locations are now closed to the public. However we have created plans to help patrons continue to access our collection. Here's what you need to know.

We will be offering curbside checkout service to allow patrons to checkout books, movies, and audiobooks.

To take advantage of this service, use the website to request materials, or call any library location between 9 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Saturday, to request books, movies, or audiobooks. You can give us a list or ask us to pull a selection for you based on reading level and genre.

Our computer system generates our list of holds overnight, so if you’re wanting a same day pick up, please call the Library

Once your request is ready we will call you to schedule a pickup. When you arrive we will be happy to bring those materials to your car and pick up items for return.

You will be required to show a photo ID to receive the materials.  Please have your ID ready to show library staff through a closed window.  Ideally, pop your trunk so library staff can place your materials inside to reduce face to face contact.

Curbside service is available between 10 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Checkout times will be for six weeks until the library resumes normal operations.

Amarillo Public Library will ease checkout restrictions on patrons with fines above $5.

There will be no English as a Second Language Classes until a new term begins.

Donations to the Friends of the Amarillo Public Library Book Sale are suspended until further notice.
