Amarillo Public Library is restarting the Seed Library thanks to a partnership with the High Plains Food Bank!

Director of Library Services Amanda Barrera says the available seeds and their packaging will look different from the Seed Library’s first iteration.  “There will be more variety for patrons to choose from but supplies of specific types of seeds may be limited.  We are grateful to the High Plains Food Bank for working with us to make this service available to our patrons in time for the spring gardening season.”

Beginning Thursday, April 3, the newly imagined library of seeds will be available for patrons to explore at the Downtown Library.  Seeds will be sorted into broad categories and patrons can choose seed packets of different varieties.  As before, patrons are asked to limit their “withdrawals” from the Seed Library to five per month.
