Amarillo Public Library’s Youth Staff has been providing funny skits to celebrate the holiday season for longer than anyone can remember—even providing skits online during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Each year, the staff selects a beloved children’s book and creates a skit based on the story.  This year’s selection is Santa’s Hat by Linda Bleck.

Youth Services Coordinator Melody Boren says kids love the skits—and the special storytime that comes with it.  “Hearing stories read aloud helps kids develop creativity and a stronger vocabulary, and following this year’s skit, kids will have a chance to hear a story read by Mrs. Claus, so it’s fun and is another step on the path to being a successful reader.”

Skit performances at the Downtown Library are available to school and daycare groups as well as members of the public at 9:30 AM and 1:30 PM December 11 through 14.  Please call 806-378-3089 to register in advance.
