Amarillo Public Library patrons interested in exploring their family history have a new resource thanks to the Amarillo Genealogical Society.
Members of AGS have agreed to offer one-on-one genealogy assistance to library patrons just getting started in genealogy.
APL Director of Library Services Amanda Barrera says the library is delighted to be able to offer this service. “A lot of people might think you can just go on Ancestry.com and find everything you’re looking for, but tracing your family history can be quite a bit more complicated. Having an experienced genealogist provide guidance on how to get started is invaluable.”
The Amarillo Genealogical Society holds its meetings at the Amarillo Public Library and assists with genealogy programs.
