Amarillo Public Library is excited to partner with a group of western authors to present, Colors of the West, a look at western literature and how the genre endures and evolves.
All participating authors are members of WWA who contributed to the recent anthology, Through Western Storms. They will be available to answer questions and discuss western writing. Attendees will also have an opportunity to purchase books and have them signed.
Participating authors include:
- Jane Little Botkin, author of The Girl Who Dared to Defy : Jane Street and the Rebel Maids of Denver and The Pink Dress: A Memoir of a Reluctant Beauty Queen
- Natalie Bright, co-author of the Wild Cow Ranch series and End of the Trail Eats: Cowboy-Approved Recipes from the Cowtown Café to the Saloon.
- Jim Jones, author of Halo Moon and The Big Empty
- Denise F. McAllister, author of the Katy McKim mystery series and co-author of the Wild Cow Ranch series
- Vonn McKee, author of Comanche Winter and Other Stories of the West
- Robert E. Vardeman, author of Straight Outta Tombstone and many other western titles under the pen name, Jackson Lowry
- Scott McCrea, author of Targets West and the Tales of Tom Mix series
Colors of the West is part of Amarillo Public Library’s Color Our World Summer Reading Club, which offers fun, free, educational events throughout the summer and offers participants the opportunity to earn prizes while developing a habit of regular reading.
Colors of the West takes place from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, June 18 at the Southwest Branch Library.
