Amarillo Public Library has added PressReader to its selection of online resources, giving APL cardholders unlimited access to 7,000 magazines and newspapers from around the world.
APL Assistant Director of Library Services Shaun McDonald says that making PressReader available to library patrons is another way APL can fulfill its mission. “Whether it’s in print or online, libraries connect people with information, so we’re excited to sponsor PressReader and make its selection of magazines and newspapers available to our patrons.”
Topics covered by PressReader include art, computers & technology, fashion, health, history & science, home & garden, music, parenting & family, travel, and many more. Vanity Fair, Time, National Geographic, USA Today, and The Guardian are just a few examples of publications now available to APL cardholders.
In PressReader, magazines and newspapers appear as they do in their print editions with all photos, ads, classifieds, and notices. Users can browse issues page by page, or they can search across many magazines and newspapers for articles on specific topics using keywords. Readers can also filter newspapers and magazines by language and geographic location.
PressReader is available through an online browser or a no-charge app available from the Apple or Google App Stores.
