February marks the first in a series of professional development programs offered by Amarillo Public Library’s North Branch. The series aims to help high school students and adults navigating the workforce take on financial and job search tasks.
The first installment of the program will help prospective college students complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) paperwork. Future installments include programs on resumé writing, financial literacy, and job interview skills. Participants will be able to make use of library Chrome Books during the program.
North Branch Reference Assistant Taylor Hart says the idea behind the series is to help people get started. “FAFSA applications can be intimidating, so we want to provide people with the tools they need to begin and a safe space to ask questions and receive help. That’s the idea we had in mind when we came up with this series.”
The first meeting of the new series will take place on Friday, February 20 at 4:30 PM. Subsequent programs are planned for the third Friday of each month through May. For more information, contact the North Branch Library at 806-381-7931.
