Teacher Services Print

The Youth Department Staff of Amarillo Public Library offers a number of special services to teachers.

Teacher Loan Policy - Teachers inside the city limits may check out up to 50 items for 42 days.

Pulling Books - The youth staff will pull and hold books for teachers. Please give us two to three days to pull books. Bring in or FAX your list of topics, grade levels and/or titles to us.

Special Programs - We offer special programs consisting of skits, stories & songs three times a year - fall, Christmas, and spring. Reservations are required. Please contact the Central Library for details and scheduling.

Scavenger Hunt - The Central Library has a scavenger hunt to provide you and your students a fun, educational and informative way to learn your way around the Library. Scheduling is required.

Tours - All locations offer tours by appointment. Please call for details and scheduling.

School Visits - Please invite us out to your classroom for storytelling & storytimes for elementary ages and booktalks for 3rd grade through high school.

Booklists - For early elementary grades, we have bibliographies available for your use listing titles in our collection by subject. A sampling of subjects includes seasons, farm, transportation, & grandparents. We also have subject index guides and lists of recommended books available.

Other Materials - In addition to books, we also have talking books, cassettes, children's CD's, videos, and CD-ROMs available for use.
